Offbeat is a series of live events curated by local contemporary artists who share an interest in performance, community, music, comedy and dance. Presented across the year in Adelaide Contemporary Experimental’s front room, each artist-as-curator brings their own model for engaging with liveness and togetherness.

taking a drink of My Self (saliva) is a performance by Monte Masi and collaborators. Turning toward the uncategorisable and unhinged, taking a drink of My Self (saliva) featured a suite of new objects made by artist Eleanor Amor. Perverted bumpkins cavort in response to a lamp-post (free standing), a gate, a swing and a flute.

Cakesim: God Save the Cream
Curated by Truc Truong, Cakesim: God Save the Cream will feature the first live performance collaboration between Truong and hardcore band Winnerz Circle.
Cakeism is loosely defined yet viscerally experienced, poking fun of pseudo-politics, omitting details of all things worth talking about to avoid cancellation, and get paid. Let the House of Cards fall.
Banh mi will be provided by the Trương family (thịt nguội and tofu).
Pressurised Whisper Orchestra
Curated by Kaspar Schmidt Mumm, Pressurised Whisper Orchestra is an event involving two visual artists – John Davis and Evelyn Roth – and two music collectives – The Quirkestra and Zemzemeh زمزمه. Combined, the event will traverse illustration, orchestral jams, whispered bellows of sound and vibrant inflatable sculptures.
